Goldfields Esperance Development Commission

The Goldfields Esperance Development Commission (GEDC) is a Western Australian State Government agency committed to encouraging and promoting economic and social activity in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia. The GEDC is one of nine Regional Development Commissions, which were established under the Regional Development Commissions Act (1993).

The GEDC is responsible to the Honorable Ljiljanna Ravlich MLC, Minister for Local Government; Racing and Gaming; Multicultural Interests and Citizenship; Government Enterprises; Minister Assisting the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure; Goldfields-Esperance; Youth. A Board of Management comprising of ten members is drawn from Local Government, community representatives and Ministerial appointment. The Board sets the overall strategic direction and goals for the GEDC. The organisation receives an annual budget from the State Government to carry out its activities. Staff are located in Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Esperance and Leonora and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the GEDC.
