Migration options in the Goldfields-Esperance region

Considering making the Goldfields-Esperance region your new home, or are you having trouble finding suitably skilled staff for your vacancies? Then the Goldfields-Esperance Development Commission (GEDC) may be able to assist.

As GEDC is a Regional Certifying Body (RCB) for the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) there are a number of skilled migration initiatives available that may meet your needs.

The Migration Regional Certifying Service provided by the GEDC has been placed on hold until further notice.

Having trouble finding suitable staff?

GEDC has access to the Skills Matching Database compiled by DIAC. The Database contains thousands of CVs of prospective qualified people wishing to migrate to Regional Australia. GEDC can assist you by searching the database for your needs and providing your company with CVs.

Companies considering migration initiatives as an option to address skills shortages have a number of options that may help alleviate the situation. DIAC have introduced a number of Regional initiatives that provide extra concessions and alternatives to make Regional Australia more attractive - these include the Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme, Skilled Independent Regional Scheme and the Regional 457.

As there are many options available and each companies needs may vary, employers who operate in the Goldfields-Esperance region are encouraged to contact the Migration Initiatives project officer (see bottom of page) to discuss their needs and find out more about the initiatives available.
