CRTAFE Kalgoorlie welcomes international students
08Feb2023

International students have been attracted to Kalgoorlie by the recent launch of a 'Regional Bursary' by TAFE International WA.

The GEDC was delighted to attend a welcoming event on 23 January 2023 for a cohort of international students undertaking the Certificate III in Community Services and Cert III in Commercial Cookery at Central Regional TAFE Kalgoorlie this semester. Originally from China, the Philippines, and Zambia the students have been attracted to Kalgoorlie by the recent launch of a TAFE International WA (TIWA) Regional Bursary.

The Regional Bursary initiative encourages students to live, work and study at a regional Western Australian TAFE and seeks to support local workforce needs in areas such as hospitality, tourism, childcare, aged and disability care. As part of the initiative, 200 bursaries of $5,000 are available for students studying at a regional TAFE in an eligible study package in 2023 or 2024, as well as support to find part time work and accommodation at their study location.

Anyone interested in finding out more about the International Student opportunity is encouraged to contact Lea Arnold at CRTAFE by email at Lea.Arnold@crtafe.wa.edu.au or phone: 08 9956 2834. Additional bursary information, including eligibility criteria is available on the TAFE International WA (TIWA) website.
