The Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) ‘WA Mineral and Petroleum Statistics Digest’ was recently launched, outlining the performance of the resources industry in the 2021-2022 period. Record levels of mining exploration expenditure, mining investment, production and employment are a feature of the report and optimism around current and future production, and contributions to the economy and community is very high. The Goldfields-Esperance region had an overall production value of almost $20 billion. Gold and silver contributed $11.7 billion, nickel and cobalt $4.8 billion and spodumene and tantalum pentoxide $1.5 billion. SHARE Back To News Stories
