Curtin University’s Western Australian Schools of Mines (WASM) recently hosted 17 Year 10-12 students from metropolitan and regional schools, including Kalgoorlie-Boulder, for a week of immersive mining and mining related experiences. The residential camp allowed student to explore career and study pathways in the WA resources sector, meet industry roles models, and enjoy a taste of living in the Goldfields. Contributions from Northern Star Resources, Rio Tinto and WASM allow the students to access this valuable opportunity with no costs for travel, meals and accommodation. The GEDC attended the industry networking event to speak with students about their aspirations, and the benefits of living and working in the region. SHARE Back To News Stories
