On the Thursday of NAIDOC Week 2022, GEDC staff attended the Goldfields Aboriginal Business Chamber Forum and Tradeshow to celebrate Aboriginal-owned and operated businesses in the Goldfields. About 150 people came from across Western Australia to attend the event, which featured 18 local Aboriginal business exhibitors including Minniegootha Bushfoods Catering, Many Rivers, Kai Rho Contracting and Tjiwarl Contracting Services. Part of the forum involved an engaging panel discussion led by local business leaders who provided insights into their experience as business owners, highlighting the opportunities and challenges of running a successful Aboriginal business. GEDC was delighted to be a sponsor and participate in this event to further develop connections with Aboriginal business, industry and stakeholders to support the growth of the Goldfields-Esperance economy.
