During his visit to Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Minister for Regional Development, Hon. Don Punch attended Goldfields Machining to unveil their new large scale, Hydraulic Cylinder Repair Bench.
The Goldfields Machining event, which was attended by over 50 clients, staff and industry stakeholder provided the opportunity for attendees to see the Hydraulic Cylinder Repair Bench housed in their newly commissioned Hydraulic Shed. Attendees were treated to a demonstration of the Hydraulic Bench and were able to view the extensive range of parts fabricated in-house.
Goldfields Machining was awarded $75,000 funding through the Regional Economic Development (RED) Grant program to support the purchase of the new Hydraulic Cylinder Repair Bench. The engineering and fabrication business has been servicing the mining industry in the Goldfields since 2008 and identified the need for the new high tech repair bench to better service the local mining industry. The new repair bench has enabled the business to expand their on-site pressure testing, digital reporting and laser stroke measurement on larger cylinders. With the arrival of the new equipment, the business has employed additional staff and upskill with specialised training.
