Around 30 industry, research and other interested stakeholders were treated to an exploration of the role of digital technology in mining and mining services at the Digital Transformation and Mining event on 6 May 2022. The event featured Andrew Bell of Innovation Central Perth, who presented at a dynamic two-hour session at the Western Australian Schools of Mines (WASM - Curtin). In addition, WASM Professor of Practice Rob Solomon, Director Sabina Shugg and an industry panel also provided insight into the future of digital technology in the mining sector. A number of potential project applications for the Goldfields region were discussed by attendees and the panel.
