The GEDC prepares a Strategic Plan at least every two years to help guide the focus of the agency and to inform stakeholders about the priorities of the GEDC.

Nine Regional Development Commissions, one for each region in WA, were established in 1993 under the Regional Development Commissions Act, 1993.

The Act enables the establishment of a Board and CEO reporting directly to the Minister of Regional Development.

The GEDC is a regionally based organisation with employees and Board members living and working across the region, and our purpose is to promote economic development and sustainable regional communities, in our region and for the State.

The Board and staff recently got together to workshop planned strategies, actions and outcomes for our priorities over the year ahead.

Over the next month, we’ll be finalising our Strategic Plan document and look forward to sharing this with our stakeholders in July 2022.
