The Leonora Ageing in Place village has been officially opened by the Honourable Don Punch, Minister for Regional Development.

The Leonora Ageing in Place village was officially opened by the Honourable Don Punch, Minister for Regional Development at a community event today. The independent living village incorporates eight units each with private courtyards as well as a community hall, communal areas and barbeque facilities. 

The new village will enable senior residents from Leonora and surrounding areas to remain in their community while being supported by local and visiting wrap around services. The official opening, which was hosted by the Shire provided the opportunity for a first glimpse of the completed accommodation units and village grounds.

The Leonora Ageing in Place project was supported with $3.5 million funding through the Regional Aged Accommodation Program.
