Esperance’s new Power Station and Renewables Hub was officially opened by Premier Mark McGowan and the Hon Bill Johnston, the Minister for Energy, on Friday, 27 May 2022. The new integrated power solution combines start-of-the-art renewable power generation and a new highly efficient gas power station to deliver cleaner, greener electricity to the people of Esperance. Two 4.5MW wind turbines and a 4MW solar farm will meet up to 46 per cent of the community's electricity needs and help halve the carbon emissions associated with generating power.
