On 18 September 2023, the Minister for Planning, Hon John Carey MLA, announced $4 million in funding through the Infrastructure Development Fund to the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder. The funds will enable the extension of the main sewerage network to service 66.9 hectares of undeveloped land near Kalgoorlie-Boulder airport.

The land is on Hart Kerspien Drive, a 17.2 hectare site where a Residential Lifestyle Village for 400-dwellings has been proposed for development by M/Group, featuring one, two, three and four bedroom homes.

The GEDC has worked collaboratively with the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder and key stakeholders such as the KBCCI and State agencies, through its Kalgoorlie-Boulder Land Group and housing studies, to identify priority housing and land projects, and to support investment in the region.

Applications for the next round of the regional Infrastructure Development Fund close on 7 December 2023. For more information, click here.
