Hundreds of delegates from around the state have converged on Kalgoorlie-Boulder from Monday 15 May to attend the three-day, 2023 WA Regional Tourism Conference, held at the Goldfields Art Centre. Numerous dignitaries, including Federal Minister for Trade and Tourism, Senator the Hon. Don Farrell, WA Deputy Premier and Minister for Tourism, Roger Cook and Tourism WA CEO Caroline Turnbull as well as a host of industry professionals, travelled to present and learn of new initiatives in the sector.
A host of local presentations led the way with visitors to the region hearing from Chairperson of the Outback Way, Patrick Hill, Edie and Danny Ulrich of Goldfields Honey Ant tours and Kim Eckert of KBULG. The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Mayor, John Bowler alongside the Hon. Don Farrell officially unveiled the city’s newest cultural icon the ‘Karlkurla’ by Kalgoorlie-Boulder born and international renowned sculptor Christian de Vietri this morning.
Goldfields-Esperance Development Commission were a sponsor of the event, as well as sponsoring a number of delegates through a partnership with the Goldfields Aboriginal Business Chamber.
