AgriFutures evokeAG 2024

GEDC staff recently represented the region at AgriFutures ‘evokeAG 2024’, with the two-day event bringing together some of agrifood tech’s most exceptional minds, and global conversations around agriculture, food manufacturing, research, innovation, investment, and policy – with an aim to build connections for a more resilient, productive, and profitable agricultural sector and value chain.

Agenda topics included maintaining socio-economic productivity while reducing environmental footprint, cultural IP, and the importance of responsible investment. Several farmers from the Goldfields-Esperance region attended the conference to promote the ag sector to national and international guests.

As Western Australia’s largest geographical region, Goldfields-Esperance has well established relationships with significant agriculture markets, including a number of globally focused industries exporting overseas. The region generates $800 million in agricultural production (per annum) with the ag sector a driving force of the Goldfields– Esperance economy.

As global demand for premium clean food rises, and with its abundant resources and advanced tech farming practices, our region is well positioned to grow the value of the agrifood sector well into the future.
