From 1 July 2017, staff from the State’s nine Regional Development Commissions will amalgamate with the Departments of Agriculture and Food, Fisheries and Regional Development to form the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development.
Earlier this year, the State Government announced major structural changes aimed at creating collaborative departments focused on whole-of-government objectives and delivering services in a more efficient and effective way. We are currently in the process of determining the most efficient and effective way of working and determining our department’s key priorities. This will be done in conjunction with the State budget announcement later this year. The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development remains committed to the development of our State’s primary industries and regional Western Australia.
