The GEDC enables regional development through State Government grant programs as well as providing project support to stakeholders, to access a range of other funding resources.
Below is a list of selected Australian grants from external providers that may be useful for organisations seeking funding assistance for socio-economic developments within the Goldfields-Esperance region. The GEDC endeavours to keep this list as up to date as possible.

Preserve, Promote and Protect our Aboriginal Sites Grant Program
The WA Government is offering grants to Aboriginal organisations to fund projects that preserve, promote and protect important Aboriginal heritage sites, to support Aboriginal people in managing their cultural heritage throughout Western Australia. Applications close 14 November 2024.

Regional Airports Program
The Australian Government’s Regional Airports Program provides grants to improve the safety, accessibility and climate resilience of airports and aerodromes in regional areas of Australia. Grants from $20,000 will be available to support critical air infrastructure that improves the safety of aircraft, operators and passengers using regional airports, facilitate improved delivery of essential goods such as food supplies, healthcare and passenger air services, improve connectivity of Australia’s regions to market opportunities and assist air services to transition to net zero aviation technology.

Industry Development Workshops and Masterclasses
ScreenWest is offering grants to support the delivery of professional skills development opportunities of WA screen practitioners. Activities delivered must address identified gaps in the WA industry. Applications close 18 November 2024.

Future Drought Fund: Long-term Trial of Drought Resilient Farming Practices Program
The Australian Government is inviting applications via an open competitive process to fund innovative and transformational practices that have the potential to build economic, environmental and social resilience of Australian farms to drought and climate variability. Projects will contribute to drought and climate resilience through investigations that test, refine and demonstrate the effectiveness of innovative farming practices, technologies and/or approaches through scientific, evidence-based trials. Applications close 19 November 2024.

Partnership Acceptance Learning Sharing (PALS) Program
The WA Government’s Partnership Acceptance Learning Sharing (PALS) program encourages WA schools to develop projects promoting and advancing reconciliation in their local community. Applications close 18 November 2024.

Tertiary Access Payment
The Tertiary Access Payment (TAP) is a one-off payment of up to $5,000 aimed at helping eligible students with the costs of relocating from a regional or remote area to undertake tertiary study. Applications close 31 December 2024.

Native Forest Transition: Closure of Impacted Business (CIB) Grants
The State Government’s CIB program is a $1 million non-competitive grant program that aims to help any business reliant on native timber to exit the industry. The grant offers eligible businesses up to $50,000 in financial assistance to help with expenses associated with closing their business. Applications close 31 December 2024.

National Justice Reinvestment Program
The Australian Government is inviting applications through an open non-competitive process to deliver justice reinvestment initiatives. The grant supports the development and delivery of community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led reinvestment initiatives across Australia. Applications close 13 January 2025.

Infrastructure Development Fund WA
The WA Government is offering grants to assist assists with the cost of resolving infrastructure constraints that impact the supply of medium to high density housing in priority infill locations within Perth and worker accommodation in the regions. Applications close 6 January 2025.

Charge Up Electrical Vehicle (EV) Charging Grants
The WA Government’s Charge Up Workplace EV Charging Grants Program aims to increase electrical vehicle uptake in WA while minimising electricity system impacts. The program funds projects that increase the availability of EV chargers in WA, maximise opportunities for daytime charging, support the conversion of commercial fleets to EVs and promote connectivity between metro and regional areas, including the provision of fast charging stations at key locations. Applications close 30 June 2025.

Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) Worker Retention Payment
This Australian Government funding supports a wage increase for all eligible ECEC workers from December 2024. The Australian Government has announced a total investment of $3.6 billion towards the ECEC Worker Retention Payment, of this up to $3.5 billion has been made available for this grant opportunity. The grant funding awarded under this grant opportunity grant will be available from the first business day in December 2024 to 30 November 2026. Applications close 30 September 2026.

Industry Growth Program
The Australian Government’s Industry Growth Program provides an Advisory Service for startups and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) undertaking innovative commercialisation and/or growth projects that are within the priority areas of the Australian Government’s National Reconstruction Fund (NRF) and help build Australia’s manufacturing capability for the future.

First Peoples Curators’ Program
First Peoples Curator Program supports an emerging Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander practitioner to present an exhibition at First Draft. The Program is designed to provide early career curatorial practitioners with new skills, professional development and access to key industry networks.

City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder's Event Sponsorship Program
The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s Event Sponsorship Program is to position Kalgoorlie-Boulder as a significant event destination in partnership with community organisations and businesses that make positive contributions to the quality of life in the City and our local economy.

City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community Group Grant
The grant provides financial assistance to not-for-profit community groups and organisations for projects that strengthen and enhance the social wellbeing, development and sustainability of the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community. There are three categories available from community group grant, outstanding individual grant and sponsorship of hire fees.

Regional Precincts And Partnership Program
This program offers grants up to $5 million to develop a precinct idea through to investment-ready stage in partnership with local stakeholders to benefit regional communities.

International Partnerships in Critical Minerals
The Australian Government is offering critical minerals businesses grants between $2 million and $20 million to grow end-to-end supply chains with Australia’s international partners. The grant opportunity will be open for applications for up to 2 years to cover up to 50% of eligible expenditure.

Telstra Top-up
Infoxchange have partnered with Telstra to provide a complimentary $160 mobile credit recharge to those who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, family violence, food insecurity, mental health, disability or impacted by a natural disaster, which can be used over a period of 6 months. Applications may be made at any time.

PBC Capacity Building Grants For Native Title Corporations
The Australian Government is providing funding to assist Prescribed Bodies Corporate (PBCs) generate economic benefits through the effective and sustainable management of their land, to increase capacity of PBCs to take advantage of economic opportunities, build long-term organisational capacity within PBCs and support native title agreement making. Regional Organisation Grants
The WA Government Regional Organisations Grants funding opportunity is open for non-for-profit community organisations to apply for up to $50,000. The Grant aims to enhance sporting and active recreation opportunities for individuals living in regional WA. Small Business Export Loan
The Australian Government’s Small Business Export Loan provides small to medium export businesses with loans of $20,000 – $350,000 to cover up to 80% of the costs to secure an export contract or purchase order with an overseas buyer. The loans are designed to meet the specific needs of small and medium sized businesses, to take advantage of export opportunities when financial institutions cannot assist.

Active Regional Communities Grant
The WA government’s Active Regional Communities (ARC) Grants Program aims to increase the opportunities for regional people to participate in sport and active recreation activities in regional WA and is tailored to meet the demands and challenges of sport and active recreation groups within the nine regions of the WA including the Goldfields-Esperance region.

The Australian Government’s Industry Growth Program supports innovative small and medium enterprises undertaking commercialisation and/or growth projects within the National Reconstruction Fund priority areas through advisory services and opportunities for matched grant funding. Lotterywest Grants
Grants are available to projects that meet one of Lotterywest’s priority areas, including inclusive thriving community, connected cultural experiences, protected sustainable ecosystems, smart innovative society and active healthy people.

Advancing Renewables Program
The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) Advancing Renewables Program supports a range of development, demonstration and pre-commercial deployment projects. This includes opportunities to optimise the transition to renewable electricity, commercialise clean hydrogen and support the transition to low emission metals.

Self-employment Assistance Program
The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations’ Self Employment Assistance Program can help with your business idea or existing business through services including workshops, business plan development, free accredited Small Business Training, Business Advice Sessions, Business Health Check and coaching.

KidSport
The State Government’s KidSport program enables WA children aged 5 to 18 to participate in community sport by offering them financial assistance of up to $500 per financial year towards club fees. Vouchers can be used across multiple KidSport Clubs, helping more children to get active and connect with community sport. Applications are open year-round.
