Stakeholders Explore Low Carbon Opportunities

Stakeholders Explore Low Carbon Opportunities

As WA moves towards a lower carbon future, Esperance stakeholders came together during August to explore what local opportunities might stem from the transition.

GEDC has partnered with the Great Southern Development Commission to identify the regional constraints and opportunities that may arise for WA’s south coast as part of the low-carbon transition.

As part of this project, called the South Coast Transition – Planning for a Low Carbon Economy, workshops were held in Albany and Esperance and stakeholders from across various business and industries, utility providers, workforce agencies and local and state governments, provided local input into the process.

With a final report due later this year, the Project aims to collate recommendations that help optimise socio-economic outcomes for south coast communities, as part of the low-carbon transition.
