The Goldfields-Esperance Aboriginal Business Leadership Initiative (ABLI) will return in February 2026, supporting local Aboriginal business owners and entrepreneurs across the region.
The ABLI is a State Government funded, culturally safe program specifically designed to strengthen leadership, enhance operational skills and build business resilience for long term success. The program will be delivered through a flexible and tailored approach to ensure participants receive the support they need to grow.
The GEDC, alongside the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development has engaged Kaala Barna Aboriginal Consultancy to deliver the ABLI program in 2026. Kaala Barna is an Aboriginal-owned consultancy based in Boorloo (Perth), specialising in providing training and advice centred on cultural principles and organisational best practice.
The program will run for eight week, providing participants with a mix of small-group collaborative workshops, one-on-one mentoring and counselling sessions. In-person workshop sessions will be held in Kalgoorlie-Boulder, with travel support available for eligible applicants to ensure equal access and participation.
