This year’s Converge Business and Industry Forum began with a very special Welcome Dinner, featuring local culinary Masterchef finalist Hannah Johnson. Hannah led diners through her journey with a behind the scenes look at what goes into creating and producing the popular television show. Guests enjoyed a gourmet three course meal; expertly taste matched, by local French restaurateur Bistro Louis. The evening featured a local twist of Masterchefs’ infamous “mystery box”, featuring produce from Bob & Jim’s General Store.

For the third year, the GEDC partnered with the Esperance Chamber of Commerce and Industry to bring a variety of high calibre presenters to the coastal town. The program showcased innovative local businesses and keynote presentations which ranged from digital future proofing, AI integration and agricultural market insights, to the development of an iconic new sculpture trail along the Esperance coastline.

Converge also provided a unique opportunity for the community to hear directly from key stakeholders Southern Ports, Horizon Power, Arc Infrastructure and Development WA, on the issues impacting the growth of the region.

Insights from CCIWA’s Chief Economist Dr Daniel Kiely highlighted WA’s significant place in the national economy and that Esperance is well positioned to capitalise on future growth and business opportunities.
