It was a full house for the Growing Together: Early Childhood Education and Care Conference in Kalgoorlie-Boulder in late October, with more than 95 regionally based educators coming together for this professional development event.
GEDC, in partnership with Escare, supported Esperance educators to travel for the event, held at the Goldfields Arts Centre. The conference provided an important networking opportunity for the industry, while experts in the field shared knowledge on behaviour management, educator wellbeing and Aboriginal languages.
Presenters included behaviour management expert Robert Yammouni, Tanya Tucker from East Kalgoorlie Primary School, Sue Hanson from the Goldfields Aboriginal Language Centre and naturopath Jesabe Warner.
The event was hosted by the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, in partnership with the GEDC, Shire of Coolgardie, Shire of Leonora and Central Regional TAFE to support workforce development in critical sectors. This event was supported by the Department of Communities’ LGA Attraction and Retention Grant.
