LARC Future Forums in Goldfields-Esperance region

GEDC and DPIRD staff joined around sixty participants at the Leading Australian Resilient Communities (LARC) Future Forums in Kalgoorlie-Boulder and Esperance last week.

The one-day Future Forums involved presentations on the latest economic and social data compiled by the Regional Australia Institute (RAI), as well as open discussions about the opportunities and future hopes for the region and how to foster regional resilience through collaborative leadership.

RAI CEO Liz Ritchie provided an overview of regional trends and RAI’s Regionalisation Ambition 2032, a framework designed to guide actions to support more Australians living in the regions and reduce the city-country population imbalance.

LARC will return to Kalgoorlie-Boulder for its Intensive Leadership Program next between February and May next year.

The LARC Program is delivered by Leadership WA, in collaboration with the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation and the RAI.
