GEDC CEO Kris Starcevich recently attended the 2026 Developing Northern Australia Conference in Alice Springs. The event brought together leaders from Government, business, community and commerce, to help shape a strategic path forward for Northern Australia.
The conference provided an opportunity to highlight the importance of the Outback Way initiative and expand the conversation “beyond road” infrastructure. Minister Dawson spoke at the event and joined a panel discussion with the Hon Madeleine King, Minister for Resources and Northern Australia.
The Outback Way is a transformative regional infrastructure project spanning the breadth of Central Australia. Kris met with stakeholders from WA, NT and QLD during the conference to promote the project and collaborate on how this once in a generation, national-scale infrastructure project can leave a positive and lasting legacy for regional and remote communities, while strengthening Australia’s productivity.
