Minister for Goldfields-Esperance visits remote community of Tjuntjuntjara

Minister for Goldfields-Esperance, the Hon. David Michael, travelled to the remote community of Tjuntjuntjara in the Pitjantjatjara Lands recently as part of his ongoing commitment to visit every town and community across the region. During the visit, Minister Michael met with representatives from the Paupiyala Tjarutja Aboriginal Corporation (PTAC) to discuss local priorities, challenges and future opportunities. He also spent time with community members, gaining valuable insight into the life of one of the State’s most isolated communities.

The visit included tours of local key facilities, including the Spinifex Art Project studio and the community store.

Located approximately 700km northeast of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Tjuntjuntjara’s remoteness reinforces the need for strong regional connections and practical support for local infrastructure, services and economic development.
