GEDC staff took time to acknowledge the importance of reconciliation in our region during National Reconciliation Week.
Kalgoorlie staff took learnings from the Reconciliation WA Breakfast event, which featured a powerful keynote address by prominent Whadjuk Noongar journalist and advocate Narelda Jacobs.
In Esperance, members of the team attended a community event on the foreshore, where approximately 500 people gathered to celebrate the 2026 theme, ‘All In’. The theme encourages everyone to take action and commit to reconciliation in their daily lives, and actively contribute to meaningful change.
The foreshore celebrations concluded with a short walk from the Whale Tail sculpture to the Esperance Tanker Jetty Park, where further activities and refreshments were enjoyed by attendees.
GEDC works with First Nations peoples and Traditional Custodians of land across the region, recognising the privilege of living and working in this diverse place and remaining committed to our reconciliation journey.
