New Esperance TAFE officially open

The GEDC joined about 50 local stakeholders for the official opening of Esperance’s new TAFE facility on 26 August.

Minister for Education and Training, Hon. Sue Ellery MLC, visited Esperance for the opening and met with local employees, community members, and design and construction teams involved in the project.

The new facility features three trade workshops for training in construction, metal engineering and auto/machinery industries, as well as specialist facilities for childcare, seniors and disability care, within a landscaped setting.

Artwork at the facility was developed by local Aboriginal Tjaltjraak artists.

The GEDC is pleased to see the new facility in operation following efforts from the local community and State Government to prioritise this project, which included a $10 million Royalties for Regions funding contribution towards the facility.
