REDs Grants for Goldfields-Esperance Businesses

Regional Development Minister Don Punch visited MAS Equipment Pty Ltd in Kalgoorlie-Boulder to announce the successful Round 6 Regional Economic Development (RED) Grant recipients.Three Goldfields-Esperance projects have been awarded funding across a diverse range of areas including innovation and technology, new product development and training. These three projects will be sharing $555,000 in funding delivered for this Round.

Congratulations to:

  • Kalgoorlie-Boulder based business, MAS Equipment Pty Ltd received $85,000 for the Cobot: Leading the way in regional automation project. Funding will assist in the purchase of a collaborative robot welding assistant to perform strenuous maintenance and repair tasks, while bringing automation and innovation to the region and creating new industry jobs.
  • Kai Rho Contracting received $235,000 for the Real Time Training project. Funding will support the purchase of a dual cab grader to be utilised for civil projects across the region and WA, enabling Aboriginal skills development through the training of new grader operators and support local procurement opportunities.
  • Esperance-based business, Bedford Harbour Engineering Pty Ltd received $235,000 to install overhead cranes at their new facility, enabling the local manufacturing of a wider range of agricultural equipment and products to supply farmers within the region and across WA.
