During March, the GEDC welcomed the recently appointed Minister for Regional Development, the Hon Stephen Dawson MLC, to Kalgoorlie-Boulder. Minister Dawson met with the GEDC Chair and CEO to discuss regional development priorities and GEDC key initiatives and met with local stakeholders.
Minister Dawson also attended the March meeting of the Goldfields Voluntary Regional Organisation of Councils (GVROC) in Esperance, meeting with local government leaders from across the region.
The Minister provided an overview of the WA Government’s key initiatives and the newly established regional ministerial portfolios. The GEDC provided a presentation to the Minister and GVROC representatives on the progress of the draft Goldfields-Esperance Drought Resilience Plan, which is due to be released for public comment in May.
