The SEGRA Conference 2021 finished on a high last week after three days of informative and inspiring speakers, networking events and study tours in Kalgoorlie-Boulder.
The Hon. Alannah MacTiernan MLC, the Minister for Regional Development, delivered an opening address featuring a vignette of economic development initiatives led by the State Government around the Western Australia, including hydrogen and renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, local content and regional economic development grants.
Local speakers such as Rowena Leslie, Chair of the Goldfields Aboriginal Business Chamber and Sabina Shugg, Director of the Curtin University WA School of Mines, joined national speakers from across Australia to debate diverse issues affecting regional Australia, from population and climate change, renewable energy, futures for regional cities, business entrepreneurship and more.
The GEDC thanks all SEGRA participants and delegates that travelled to Kalgoorlie-Boulder for the three-day event and to local organisations that provided services and products to the delegates during their stay.
Presentations from SEGRA will be available online shortly.
