14Aug2023 Wrap up of Kalgoorlie-Boulder's Diggers and Dealers Conference for 2023 Another hugely successful event bringing together our 'traditional' mining sectors, with battery metals dominating for the first time this year. GEDC staff embraced the opportunity to participate in the three-day forum, along with an estimated 2600 additional attendees. The WIMWA (Women in Mining and Resources WA) network event featured our Chair, Sabina Shugg AM and Board Member, Rowena Leslie who shared their insights and experiences in the mining industry along with other influential industry leaders. Here's some fun regional stats you may not know: 👷♂️ Mining contributed $25.877 billion to the Goldfields-Esperance economy in the past year and comprised 69.1% of region output. ⚒ Mining is also the largest employer at 38.2% followed by Health Care & Social Assistance, and Construction at 6.8% each.
