The Goldfields Aboriginal Language Centre recently hosted the annual Goldfields Aboriginal Language Awards to honour individuals and organisations that promote and support the use of Aboriginal languages in the Goldfields region for future generations. This year's winners included Edie Ulrich, pictured, who was elected to the Hall of Fame, Wiluna Primary School for Outstanding Educational Body promoting Aboriginal Language Learning and Laverton Art Centre for Outstanding Business Promoting Use of Aboriginal Language. GEDC staff attended the awards ceremony and congratulates all winners and the Goldfields Aboriginal Language Centre Aboriginal Corporation for their ongoing work to champion Aboriginal languages in the Goldfields.
