30Nov2022 The Goldfields Food Community Project launch, hosted by Edith Cowan University, took place in Kalgoorlie-Boulder on November 18. The Goldfields Food Community Project launch, hosted by Edith Cowan University, took place in Kalgoorlie-Boulder on November 18. The event was attended by Goldfields community representing a wide cross-section of regional food interests and activities. Participants had the opportunity to network and learn more about the project, while engaging in workshop activities that included brainstorming their vision of a food-secure Goldfields in 2027 and identifying food programs and initiatives that currently exist in the region. The project commenced as a trial in WA’s South West, looking to support those who had difficulties in accessing food due to physical distance, affordability, social constraints or other factors.
