11Aug2023 Local Leader, Terrence Winner, appointed as new Chair of the Goldfields-Esperance Development Commission The Hon Don Punch MLA, Minister for Regional Development, has today announced the appointment of Terrence Winner to Chair of the Goldfields-Esperance Development Commission (GEDC) Board of Management. Existing board member Tracey Rathbone was appointed to GEDC Deputy Chair, whilst Katrina Stubbs and Sarsha Lander join the GEDC board following a recent nomination process. Mr Winner has served as a board member since October 2020 and as Deputy Chair since July 2021. He is an active member of the Goldfields-Esperance community, holding several key roles including elected Councillor with the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder and CEO of the Goldfields Individual Family Support Association Inc (GIFSA). Outgoing Chair Sabina Shugg departs the GEDC board after three years at the helm. Ms Shugg is a prominent member of the Goldfields-Esperance community, and throughout her tenure remained driven and focused on the enhancement of the region. Ms Stubbs is a director of Kalgoorlie-based Kai Rho Contracting, having worked predominantly in the mining and contracting and civil works industry for 15 years. Ms Lander has worked in community services for over 13 years, currently as Client Services Manager with Empowering People in Communities (EPIC). Outgoing board member Rowena Leslie has been a significant contributor to the GEDC since her appointment in 2021, and has provided insightful and valuable advice across the GEDC activities.
