Following the success of working groups in Ravensthorpe and Dundas, the GEDC recently established a coordination group to focus on economic priorities for the Northern Goldfields. The group comprises the local governments of Laverton, Leonora, Menzies and Ngaanyatjarraku and Wiluna, and Regional Development Australia Goldfields Esperance. The Northern Goldfields group met last week to finalise an action plan outlining the key activities the group will be collaborating on in coming months. These include the prioritisation of road, rail and airport infrastructure projects that optimise increased mining and exploration activity in this part of the region and promote economic diversification opportunities.
