The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) needs urgent staffing assistance to cover for COVID drop-outs at the Federal Election this Saturday, 21 May.

The spread of COVID has overwhelmed the AEC's contingency plans in several areas, including parts of the Goldfields-Esperance region.

Paid staff are sought in Leinster, Ravensthorpe, Laverton, Hopetoun, Coolgardie, Norseman, and Somerville, with appropriate training and instruction to be provided.

If these positions aren't filled, these communities could go without polling places, leaving residents unable to vote.

If you live in one these regions and want to contribute to supporting Australia's democracy, please distribute this message to your contacts and encourage them to register their interest with the AEC by emailing electionjobs@aec.gov.au
