Today, Minister for Regional Development, Don Punch, visited Demolition WA in Kalgoorlie-Boulder to announce the latest round of Regional Economic Development (RED) Grant recipients for the Goldfields-Esperance region.
Six Goldfields-Esperance projects were awarded funding across a diverse range of areas including tourism, tech innovation, product development, increasing productivity and training. These six projects will be sharing over $1 million in funding delivered for this round (2024-25, Round 7).
Congratulations to:
- Kalgoorlie-Boulder based business, Demolition WA, received a $125,000 grant to attain Class A Asbestos Removal License and compliance, to enable them to undertake friable asbestos work in the region.
- Drake-Brockman Building and Construction Pty Ltd received $250,000 for the construction of a new cabinetry and wall framing workshop in Esperance, to increase access to carpentry services and productivity within the local building sector.
- Esperance Smash Repairs secured $145,000 to install a new automotive downdraft spray booth coupled with a compressor and power upgrade, improving business workflow.
- Hopetoun Beachside Caravan Park received $200,000 for upgrades to become an accessible caravan park, enhancing Hopetoun as a tourism destination for the accessible tourism market.
- Empowering People in Communities (EPIC) based in Kalgoorlie, secured $240,000 to expand their EpiCafe which offers practical, hands-on training programs in hospitality for people with disability, with opportunities to obtain certificate qualifications from TAFE.
- Hydramech Engineering will acquire a cutting-edge CNC Coordinate Measuring Machine with the support of $90,000 of REDs grant funding. The project will bring innovative advanced manufacturing and automation technology to the region.
