There was a strong turnout for the inaugural Eastern Goldfields First Nations Council Forum held on Thursday 16 October 2025. The event brought together agencies and stakeholders from across the Goldfields to collaboratively explore social and political issues as well practical ways to progress towards Closing the Gap. Representatives from the GEDC, community organisations and government agencies were in attendance to discuss key topics including health, education, justice and wellbeing.
Established in 2021, the Eastern Goldfields First Nations Council advocates for culturally inclusive, community-led solutions that support Aboriginal people and communities in the Goldfields.
