Future-proofing our region for dry seasons

Goldfields-Esperance Regional Drought Resilience Planning set to focus on future-proofing for dry seasons.

Working with communities to plan for our drying climate will be a key focus for GEDC this year, as work gets underway on a Drought Resilience Plan for the Goldfields-Esperance region. GEDC will be working closely with Local Governments, DPIRD and stakeholders across the region to develop the Plan, which will identify practical actions to achieve climate resilience and prepare for future dry seasons.

Over the coming months a wide range of stakeholders from across the region will have the opportunity to provide input into the process and help shape the plan. This project is jointly funded through the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund and DPIRD. The Regional Drought Resilience Planning Program is one of several programs under the $5 billion federal Future Drought Fund, a fund that invests in building resilience to drought for farmers, allied industries and regional communities.
