GEDC Board meet in Esperance

The GEDC Board gathered last week for their final meeting of 2023 in Esperance.

The GEDC Board travelled to Esperance for its December Board meeting, held at the Esperance Bay Yacht Club, where they received updates from GEDC staff members and local stakeholders, outlining the progress of key projects and priorities underway in the Goldfields-Esperance region.

Esperance Tjaltjraak Native Title Aboriginal Corporation CEO, Peter Bednall, provided an informative update to the Board, highlighting the organisation’s priorities and focus for the future.

Shire of Esperance CEO, Shane Burge, and Shire President, Ron Chambers, presented a detailed regional overview and an update on their major projects, including Esperance's James Street Precinct project to create a bold new cultural facility adjacent to the Museum on James Street, with a Visitor Centre, new community library, specialised Museum exhibition spaces, and community and retail space for indoor and outdoor events. Following the meeting, the Board visited Esperance Port, where they received an informative site tour of its regional operations from Southern Ports staff.
